Dr. Julia Lanzl is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Digital Management department of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Hohenheim. She is also a member of the Branch Business and Information Systems Engineering of the Fraunhofer FIT and co-head of department at the Research Institute for Information Management (FIM).
In research, teaching and practice, Dr. Lanzl deals with issues related to Digital Work (including New Work, Hybrid Work, Digital Leadership) and Digital Responsibility (including Digital Stress, Digital Inclusion). The goal that Dr. Lanzl pursues in her research projects is to enable organizations on a technological, organizational, and individual level to successfully use the potentials of digitalization and to enable a productive and human-centered design of work. In her research, Dr. Lanzl uses a broad spectrum of methods, including quantitative methods (especially structural equation models, longitudinal analyses, online experiments) as well as qualitative methods (especially interviews) and design science research.
Dr. Lanzl regularly publishes in internationally renowned journals (e.g., Business & Information Systems Engineering) and conferences (e.g., International Conference of Information Systems). She also serves as a reviewer for various journals and conferences and as a guest editor of a special issue of the journal Electronic Markets.
Dr. Lanzl studied law and economics at the University of Augsburg. She received her doctorate summa cum laude from the University of Hohenheim in 2021 and has since been employed as a postdoctoral researcher. For her dissertation, she was awarded the Südwestmetall Award by the Verband der Metall- und Elektroindustrie Baden-Württemberg e.V. (Association of the Metal and Electrical Industry in Baden-Württemberg). She has also received the Hohenheim Teaching Award 2022 together with Dr. Valerie Graf-Drasch and Dr. Manfred Schoch.
